I've been having good luck along the Reservoir, so I sledded over there on the way to work. There were hundreds of gulls on the water and I soon found a pack of Buffleheads. Most were paired up but I then saw one female harrassed by three males. The were furiously bobbing their heads at her and following relentlessly.

There horsing around was quite entertaining...pulll UUUPPPP!!!!!

But the female had had enough.




She flew past a Greater BB Gull, two Herrings and one cormorant,

When the light strikes the male in the right way,

He glows iridescently!
Nearby were some Wood Ducks.

Another handsome pair!

On the way home, I spotted this lightly colored juvy RTH, looks like he still has some down!
