The Cathedral Hawks

For the past 10 years I have been intermittenly observing the RTH's that frequent the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The last successful nest I observed there was in Summer of 2004. Below is a shot from that year!

Of special interest is the small space behind the saint with the raised left hand...

there seem to be a few sticks placed back there!
Well this year, acting on a tip from another blogger, I revisited the area and found it substanially more occupied!



There was even a chick! We were treated to his big, bad hawk imitation...





Also, the dad came on scene with a pigeon squab!

Later after feeding the chick, she flew out over the Park.
