Unfortunately, the Osprey we picked up in Queens had to be euthanized. His terrible injury and subsequent infection left no choice in this poor guy's fate. It is a constant reminder that we do not live in harmony with earth creatures, but rather live in total ignorance of them and their habits. In light of that, I thank this beautiful bird, and my friends, for allowing me to learn and share about the mystery and power of this beautiful animal.

Awww, poor little guy. That did look like a serious loss of blood, for a bird.
In the past week two vultures escaped from Zoos in Europe. Both were returned safely.
