4 Babies at Riverside!

Along with RBS, we got some wonderful looks at the peregrine family at Riverside Church.

Looks like there's 4 of those little stinkers flapping around. Two are just near the scrape (here Mom delivers food).

1 has partially fledged and runs around on the 2nd tier scaffolding from the top,

while the fully fledged 1 is on the 3rd tier (this is the only shot I got).

Parent trying to lure the youngsters out with food.

What an amazing backdrop!

Recent Raptors

Up at Highbridge, at least one eyass remains on the nest.

While Mom keeps a keen eye on her domain from atop GWHS.

At Broadway Bridge, 2 very active and sometimes annoying youngsters pester their parents for food.

Here's a feeding.

55 Water St. Fledges!

I got an email saying one of the eyass from the 55 Water St. nest had crash landed. Knowing the hazards of this location, I made my way downtown to see what had happened. Apparently the youngster was scooped up and taken to a rehabber for evaluation. Meanwhile, a second falcon fledged soon after. Here's the pix of it just as it flys out, Mom then joins and guides it back to the building. (I apologize for the poor quality of pix, this was one of the worst atmospheric days for shooting).

Flying out after a successful landing!

Back at the scrape with the remaining eyasses.

Broadway Peregrines!

The two eyass at Broadway Bridge fledged yesterday. One happened before I got there, the other a few hours after receiving some lunch. Here's the lunch part...

Mulberry Trees in Jackie Robinson Park

The fruiting mulberry trees in Jackie Robinson Park brought out all kinds of surprises this week. The best was a flock of 3 dozen or so cedar waxwings!

More Almost Fledges!

The Edgecomb kestrels continue their diligent work...

While the Highbridge Hawks are gaining size daily.

Up at Broadway Bridge, I witnessed an amazing sight...

a peregrine prey transfer!

The female then flew into the scrape,

where she was greeted by at least one nearly fledged young!
