Matchmaker

One of the Cathedral peacocks has been hanging out near morningside, issuing his preternatural call. I caught up to him as he displayed in the closed off patio.

He used these extendable back feathers to prop up its display.

Its also a great jumper!

Psst, Hedda...I know someone who wants to meet you!

James,

Exquisite peacock photos! Just stunning. Wow.

I have to admit, I'd find a peaturkey pretty fascinating. Poor Hedda, I keep thinking we need to find a mate for her.

Does she lay a yearly clutch of infertile eggs like the hen in Battery Park?

Wow. I've never seen one of the Cathedral peacocks actually display. Although I did find one of them going to roost 20 feet up on Wednesday, so I guess they can fly a little.

The white one also seems to be a treat hound, as he came trotting up a couple days ago to find out if I had any goodies, and then quickly departed when I showed empty hands.

Thanks Donna. Not sure about the eggs though...that would be a cool find!

Hedda laid a clutch in 2006.

Don't know about last year as I don't know where she had moved the sekret turkey hide-out in 2007.
